Outdoor Photo Session Information:

WHEN?: The best times for outdoor photos are earlier or later in the day when the sun is more at an angle than directly on the top of your head. With little kids, mornings always seem to work best, but after naps may also be better for your kids. And if they're older, it doesn't really matter. The ideal lighting, however, is later in the afternoon. The worst time of day is high noon, but it's not impossible.

WHERE?: I will go anywhere within a 45 minute radius to take your photos. If there's a special spot to you or your family, let's go there. Your own backyard is sometimes the best and most comfortable for kids. I love to explore and see new places. Shade is our friend, so wherever we go, I'll look for a shady spot or at least pose you so your back is to the sun. This is totally counterintuitive to everything you ever knew about photos as a kid. Trust me. :)

HOW LONG?: There is a loosen up period, always, when taking photos. Everyone needs to get used to the camera, my corny attempts at humor, and standing so close to each other after being told to maintain distance for SO long. However, the longest part is getting everyone set up, the actually shutter time is QUICK! Thank you high shutter speeds. Depending on how many set-ups we do, it usually takes no more than 45 mins for a family session.
