Newborn Photo Session Information:

Includes 2-3 set-ups.  Usually one with a solid color and wraps, and two different basket or bowl type set-ups.

It is best done in the first 2 weeks of life!  Why? Because that is the time baby is still the sleepiest and baby acne has yet to set it, however don’t worry if it’s already there, I will photoshop as much or as little of it out as you’d like…  That goes for any birth bruises as well.

Prior to shoot, I like to sort out what we’re doing, colors, props, so I can be set-up and ready.  Pinterest is a great source of inspiration, or tell me what types of set-ups you like that I’ve done before.  If you have an outfit or specific prop you’d like me to work into a set-up, send me a pic!

My home studio is in my finished basement with a separate room you can use to relax, watch TV, or feed baby if needed.  Also plenty of toys to play with for any older siblings.

Prepare to spend a lot of quality time with me!  It can take a couple hours. Half the time, if not more, is spent on soothing the baby and getting them into a sleepy, pose-able state.  My utmost concern is that everyone is comfortable. Don’t stress if baby is being fussy, we’ll take our time, I’ve allowed for it.

If you use a pacifier, great!  If you don’t, it can help to use it as a tool during newborn photos to calm baby down, so maybe just this once?  But if you’re totally anti-paci, I’m ok with that too! I was, and then wasn’t, and then… it’s a long story….

I use a space heater, or heating pad, and noise machine to help make baby comfortable.  Remember, they’ve just come out of a toasty warm womb where it was actually quite noisy.  Replicating that can often calm them down. Don’t dress too warmly yourself!  I certainly work up a sweat doing these pictures and I remember how much I used to sweat when I heard my newborn cry!

Speaking of dressing, pee & poop happen!  Bring a change of clothes for yourself, just in case! Don’t worry about me, it’s all part of the job!

I look forward to getting some snuggles in.   Thank you so much for trusting me with your precious little babies and to capture them in their first days of life!
